POLSOR members act as not only distributors supplying farmers with tools they need. Many members introduce their own unique solutions in the form of crop protection products, biologicals, or fertilisers. That's why, on 20 September of 2023, we have participated in a meeting concerning the registraation of crop protection products with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Developent (Departament Hodowli i Ochrony Roślin MRiRW).
Ministry representatives talked about the new organisational structure of the department and of the new roles oof each department. They appealed to producer companies to fill in holes in crop protection by introducing new products, new biologicals, new solutions for niche crops and ecological farming, and much-needed new seed-applied products.
There is a niche on the market waiting to be filled: low-risk products that could be used in forestry. As the number of active substances available on the market decreases, so does the number of products on store shelves. Each year dozens of crop protection products are phased out.
The Ministry announced upcoming R&D projects and discussed a need to regulate the use of drones in precision agriculture.
